An Autonomous Institution under Govt. of NCT of Delhi and affiliated to University of Delhi , Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology is a seat of higher technical education in India. It was established in year 1983 as Delhi Institute of Technology with the objective to meet the growing demands of manpower in the emerging fields of engineering and technology with a close social and industrial interface. Over a period of time the Institute has carved a niche for itself, both nationally and internationally, for excellence in technical education and research.
It conducts classes in Carnatic Vocal, Kathak dance, Yoga, Hindi language and Tabla by trained teachers from India and Malaysia. At the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indian Cultural Centre, more than 700 students have been benefited from the classes. The Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indian Cultural Centre also hosts an AYUSH Information Centre (traditional Indian medicines) and a Library having more than 7000 books including some latest books on Indian History, Politics, Economics, Art, Culture & English fiction. There are a substantial number of Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi & Bengali books too. There is a separate Children's Corner and an Ayush Corner with books on traditional Indian medicines. Apart from books Library has a wide collection of Documentaries, Audio Cds and Bollywood DVDs which could be hired.
